Frequently Asked Questions

“We are getting married interstate/ overseas. Are you available to travel?”

Heck yes!!!  We regularly travelling all over Victoria for glorious wedding celebrations, along with the occasional interstate and overseas get away! We just need our travel and a decent bed to crash in!!

“Do you have any travel fees in country Victoria?”

If the location is around a 1 to 2 hours drive from the Melbourne CBD, there is no additional travel fee. If your request is for us to be their until the final funky chicken dance then a nights accommodation will need to be provided.

“What do we get from you after the wedding?

You will receive your images approximately 4-6 weeks from the date of your wedding day, amount of images really depends on the hours of coverage, approximately 100 images per hour of photographing. All your images are finely edited and placed on wooden USB. We will put together an online gallery of all these images for you to share with all your family & friends. Your digital negatives are high resolution JPEG files for Printing as well as a Low Resolution version for ease to share on email, website and social media.

“Can we meet you before the day?”

We recommend it! We generally always meet each couple to get to know you both and for us to both make sure we are the right personality for your day! You will get to see some of our Fine Art albums and have a chance to ask questions on our approach and a different package. We love to help guide you with a timeline that makes sense based around your ceremony starting time.   We often do ‘skype’ chats also.

“Would you recommend having two photographers for our wedding?”

It is always great energy having 2 talented folk capturing all the moments of your day!  We do recommend you book 2 photographers if you have more then 6 bridal party members in total (more then 3 on each side) – Otherwise you may miss some pearler images of the fun & laughter of these rad people you selectively chose to be part of your day.

“How do we book you for our wedding?”

If we have photographers available and we hear about your plans and decide we would like to work together, a non-refundable deposit of one third of your chosen package along with a signed contract will make it all happen! The final 2 thirds are paid evenly, second being halfway from booking until your day and the final 2-4 weeks before you wedding day.

“Do we catch up again after booking with Indie Lane?

Sure do!  We do chat during the year leading up to your day if you ever need advise and would like more direction with the timings of your planned day.  We are always a phone call or email away.   We hold our final meetings or skype calls 2-4 weeks before your wedding day – talk about locations, times,  weather, people involved.

“Do you scout for photo shoot locations for our specific day?”

If your wedding is the Melbourne area chances are we have photographed in venue or area 🙂 We always chat about your preference for urban, country side, city, gardens etc Photographers work best under spontaneity, working with chasing the light, weather and mood to guide us through your day. If we are unfamiliar of the area we will most likely take a scout during the day and chat more to you at the final meeting of our findings and thoughts of planning out the creative locations.

“Do you have any other wedding vendors that you recommend?”

Absolutely, please check out our page ‘Wedding Vendors Who we love’ with Melbourne and Geelong Coastal Vendors.

“We have decided we would like some more coverage at our Reception, is this possible?

Of course – we would prefer this to be arranged before the day begins. Extra hours are $250.  This also includes all the editing required to process those extra images. Please note that we usually don’t stay past 10pm.

“What if it rains?”

We love a threatening cloudy sky!  Looks awesome in wedding photos – We always chat about this option and ask that you get prepared the week leading up by grabbing some umbrellas and chatting about a indoor back up plan.  If it does rain it will not ruin the day what so ever!  It does make for a pretty awesome sky if it is the case.

“Do we need to feed you?”

Oh yes please! If you could please provide a plate at dinner time, that would be awesome sauce.
