DONNA NUGENT

First and foremost I am a storyteller, connecting with people and being able to shine a light on them and their story is my passion. The magic of photography for me happens in the connection with the subject.

It is my belief that a photographers style is how they see the world around them - for me that is seeking out colour, natural light, happy smiling faces, community and the connection with people. These small moments in life all make for great stories to share, all of which can be translated into advertising material or become a family heirloom to be passed through generations.

I moved from country VIC to Melbourne to study photography after traveling the world. Starting out in the wedding industry, I had the honour of photographing over 200 beautiful couples on their wedding day. With the past 10 years around the Surf Coast I've centered my work around commercial photography, specializing in lifestyle portraits and showcasing products and culinary delights.

My approach is very personable, always taking the time to get to know each client and their vision so the photos communicate the personality or brand in a vibrant way.  Over the years I’ve found many people don’t like to photographed, but I soon discovered that a calm environment and my love for people helps to create a space were people feel comfortable enough to be natural and it really shows in their photos. My clients always end up having fun and enjoying the experience.
